LifeTies – Terms of Service

Welcome to LifeTies. By downloading, accessing, or using the LifeTies mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What LifeTies is

LifeTies is a personal time-reflection tool. It visualizes the estimated years of your life on a grid, offers daily reflections, and lets you record relationships, wishes, and milestones. The App is for personal, non-commercial use only. It is not a medical, financial, or professional advisory tool.

2. Your Data Stays on Your Device

LifeTies is designed to respect your privacy. All data you enter (your birth year, relationships, wishes, notes, settings) is stored locally on your device only. We do not operate servers, do not collect your data, and cannot see, access, or share any personal information you enter. Deleting the App deletes your data from the App's own storage.

Please note that your device's operating system may include app data in its own system backup service (for example, Android's Auto Backup, which stores app data in your personal Google account). That backup is a feature of your device and your account, is controlled by your device settings, is encrypted by your operating system, and is not accessible to us. You can turn it off in your device settings at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.

3. Premium Subscription

LifeTies offers an optional Premium subscription that unlocks additional features: adding a partner or children to your grid, unlimited parents and relationships, and unlimited wishes & milestone journal entries (the free version keeps up to 3 wishes).
The subscription is billed through the Google Play Store on a yearly basis. Payment is charged to your Google Play account.
A free trial period may be offered (e.g., 7 days). If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel, the subscription fee is charged automatically at the end of the trial period.
The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, through your Google Play subscription settings.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Google Play > Account > Subscriptions.

4. Restoration of Purchases

If you reinstall the App or switch devices, you can restore your Premium subscription using the "Restore purchase" button inside the App. Restoring a purchase requires you to sign in with the same Google Play account used for the original purchase. We cannot manually restore purchases on your behalf because we have no access to any accounts or payment records.

Note that restoring a subscription does not restore your content. Your relationships, wishes, and notes are stored on your device only. To move them to a new device, use Settings → Backup my data on the old device and Settings → Restore backup on the new one.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Life expectancy estimates shown in the App are rough statistical averages and are not predictions about any individual's actual lifespan. Do not make health, financial, or life decisions based solely on the App's estimates.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of your use or inability to use the App.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will indicate the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
